Typically found in creative industries like advertising agencies, architect firms, publishing houses and the music industry, creativity has a role to play across all aspects of business performance.

From designing new products and services, improving the sustainability of supply chains, to seeking and improving the customer experience, creativity used as a resource drives business performance.

It’s the competitive advantage needed in this rapidly changing economic environment.

The challenge is, according to the Chancellor of The Design Council in the United Kingdom “It’s not just to encourage creative industries, our priority is to encourage all industries to be creative”.

The data reveals positive trends

Survey data released last year on Innovate Firms by the OECD, shows Australia ranks 11th globally and that overall, 57% of companies said they were “investing capital to improve products and services”.

Innovation is a key economic driver for Canada being in first place followed by Switzerland and then Norway, according to the OECD.
